Usha Iyer

Archivist

Biography

I received my doctorate from the University of Central Lancashire, UK, in November 2013. My research explored the response of the Imperial Cricket Conference to developments related to decolonisation of the British Empire between 1947 and 1965.

Based in Mumbai, India, I currently work as Chief Archivist at Cipla, India's oldest pharmaceutical company.

My interest in HION stems from my doctoral research which included a brief look at the Commonwealth as an international organisation of interest to the history and international relations of the twentieth century. In addition, discourses surrounding medicine, development, technical expertise and their roles in building national identity during and after the period of decolonisation are of interest to me.
