Biography
Johannes Paulmann is Director of the Leibniz Institute of European History (IEG) and Professor of Modern History at Mainz. His research interests cover the history of Europe, International History and German history in a transnational perspective. He has been distinguished visiting professor amongst others at the London School of Economics, St Antony’s College Oxford and Sorbonne University Paris. Since 2015, he co-organizes the Global Humanitarian Research Academy, an international academic and archival research school jointly run by the IEG (Mainz), the Center for Imperial and Global History (Exeter) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (Geneva).
