Biography
Mengqi Wang is a PhD student at the School of History, Nanjing University, PRC. Her research interest is the League and children (including international organisations and other international philanthropic organisations if needed). Her research covers the history of IOs, child welfare, disability, and medical history. She holds a Master's degree in World History from Shanghai University, PRC (2025), and a Bachelor's degree in Management (Accounting) from East China Normal University, PRC (2021). During her study at Shanghai University, she was awarded by the Wellcome Trust, which enabled her to have the opportunity to study at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow (2023-2024), and earn an MSc in Health History with honours (distinction). Her research interest began with the history of psychiatry, and her dissertation at Strathclyde focused on the history of Strathmartine Hospital from 1960 to 1974, examining the management of the mentally disabled. Then, she studied the history of the Child Welfare Committee of the League and focused on its blind child mandate. This research aroused her interest in the League and children.
