  • The Executive Board Documents 
  • The Institutional Archives which are departmental archives and other fonds and collections.
  • These holdings contain records in various formats, including, manuscripts, digital records, photographs, audio recordings and multimedia.

How to access

  • The IMF Archives are open to the public only by appointments.
  • The Archival holdings of the IMF are accessed at IMF Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

The CERN Archive contains historical records from the early 1950s up to the present day, covering all aspects of the Organization’s work.

Fonds and Collection

  • Cern Fonds: files of letters memos, reports, notes and other documents created or received in the course of their duties by former Directors-General and other senior staff, by the CERN Council and subordinate Committees, by CERN Departments, and by selected Experiments and Committees.
  • The Wolfgang Pauli Archive, a collection of correspondence, manuscripts and other material representing the scientific legacy of Wolfgang Pauli (Nobel Laureate, 1945).

The Archives cover the entire administrative cycle of records and serve as a repository for Headquarters units and Field Offices. The Archives contain correspondence and administrative files transferred from the Registry and decentralized filing stations.

Fonds and Collections

  • about 70,000 pre-war and wartime files (1919−1947)
  • 200,000 post-war files (1948−1978), t
  • Special collections:  These include the ILO Directors and Directors-General Archives: Albert Thomas (1920−1932), Harold Butler (1932−1938), John G. Winant (1939−1941), Edward Phelan (1941−1948), David A. Morse (1948−1970) and C. Wilfred Jenks (1970−1973).  Also archived are C. Wilfred Jenks’ private papers (1920−1973), the records of the International Labour Office (Basel, 1890−1919) and photographic and audiovisual collections. These collections represent a total of more than 7,000 linear meters of occupied shelving.

The ITU Library and Archives Service acquires, preserves and provides access to a wide range of materials on telecommunications and related topics and on the history of ITU from 1865 to the present day.

Fonds and Collections

  • All ITU publications and official printed documents (e.g. Final Acts of all ITU conferences, conference and meeting documents, Recommendations and Reports, manuals and handbooks, regulatory publications, statistics, proceedings of seminars and workshops).
  • Books, reports, journals and data, in both paper and electronic format, related to telecommunications.
  • Historic archives documenting the activities and administration of ITU.
  • A small set of world and regional maps of telecommunications networks prepared by ITU, 1875-1930.

How to Access

  • The Reading Room is located on the sixth floor of the Montbrillant building.
  • Visitors to ITU must register at the reception desk at the Montbrillant building or the Tower and provide a valid ID with photo.
